In cabo girão viewpoint, the second highest viewpoint in the world, at 580 meters high presenting the fantastic views of the ocean; you will find the Chapel of Nossa Senhora de Fátima, which was built in 1931 and is one of the main pilgrimage sites on the island.

cabo girão is chosen as the 5th cliff with the best views at the world  according to  the travel magazine Conde Nast Traveller.

From up there, the skywalk offers you a dizzying view of the Rancho and Cabo Girão fajãs with small area of cultivated land called Fajãs do Cabo Girão. In the past this place was only accessible by boat but in 2003, an elevator was built there, which is called ‘’cable car Rancho’’, and you can still visit the place and go along the coast of the huge cliff down to Fajã dos Padres.

            Why do we call it cabo girão ?

The name of the cable (Cabo) was given by the discoverers, since the great promontory served as a point of reference as the end of the tour(Giro) on the first day of reconnaissance of Madeira's sea coast.


Quinta Vigia viewpoint 

This viewpoint is located in Quinta Vigia, the official residence of the President of the Regional Government of Madeira, and has a beautiful view of Funchal bay, extending from the port to the village of Garajau, in Caniço.    


Neves Viewpoint

The Neves viewpoint, also known as Pináculo Viewpoint,situated in the extreme east of Funchal with the hight of 283 meters above sea level is located in Sao Goncalo, the old airport road; the exit from Funchal to Reed and offers stunning views of the Funchal bay.


Véu da Noiva Viewpoint

The Véu da Noiva Viewpoint “Bride’s Veil”  located between Seixal and São Vicente, enables visitors to see the Véu da Noiva waterfall and the slopes of the northern coast of Madeira Island.

              why do we call it "Bride's Veil"?

 The Véu da Noiva Waterfall, which resembles a bride's veil, due to its height and the torrents of water that gush down the hillside.


Cabo Aéreo Viewpoint

The Cabo Aéreo Viewpoint is located in Arco de São Jorge, equipped with a picnic area where you can enjoy to enjoy the scenery. The Cabo Aéreo Viewpoint provides you a magnificent view of the ocean and the São Jorge pebble beach and some ruins.

        Why do we call it Cabo Aéreo?

 This viewpoint is named for the cable (Cabo) that was once used to assist farmers and fishermen in transporting their goods a tradition which is still maintained till nowdays.
